Information to Know
Massage therapy has been practiced for thousands of years. In addition to helping relieve general stress, massage is often effective in reducing muscle tension and pain. Correctly administered, massage can increase the flow of oxygen and blood to improve circulation, decrease inflammation and promote faster healing.
Used more and more as a complement to other forms of treatment, massage is utilized with growing frequency by medical doctors, psychologists, nursing professionals and physical therapists.
Studies have found that massage can reduce recovery time in many medical conditions including: Depression and Anxiety, Arthritis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Asthma and Bronchitis, Insomnia, circulatory problems, sports injuries, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and musculoskeletal disorders.
Whether you are looking for stress reduction and relaxation or help with pain reduction and personal healing, the licensed massage therapists at the Adjust 4 Life Wellness Center are ready and available to meet your needs in a personal and caring manner.
How far in advance should I book my massage?
While same-day reservations are welcome and we will always make every effort to accommodate your needs, advanced Reservations are highly recommended. Consider setting up your massage at least 2 to 4 days in advance. If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so at least 12 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time to avoid being charged for the scheduled appointment.
What time should I arrive for my massage?
Consider arriving approximately 15 minutes early. As a courtesy to our patients, we try to begin and end all appointments on time. Please note that on evenings and weekends, the front door may be locked. Please knock and be patient and the therapist will let you in as soon as the previous session is completed.
Should I disrobe for my massage?
Our staff has been trained to respect the privacy of our guests. During each treatment, the areas of the body not involved will be covered. If you would feel more comfortable, you may wear underwear so that you can relax and enjoy your treatment.
What Should I Do During a Massage?
Relax! It’s a great idea to give your massage therapist feedback about of pressure or technique so that you will receive the best massage for your needs. Many people use the time during a massage to relax and remain quiet, others prefer to talk. It is your massage so feel free to do what is comfortable to you.
